Louisiana Citizens does not cover damage caused by flooding.  We do not offer flood insurance policies.

The deductible is the portion of a covered loss you pay before the insurance company becomes responsible for payment under the policy.

For example, if the covered claim is $5,000 and your deductible is $500, then you pay $500 and Louisiana Citizens pays the remaining $4,500.

 

 

Yes.  Even if your damages do not exceed your deductible, it's important that you report your damages to Louisiana Citizens in the form of a
claim because there may be damages or injuries discovered later.  Further, if a lawsuit results due to your claim, Louisiana Citizens could assist you by providing legal counsel.

 

 

Yes.  In accordance with the conditions of your policy, you must file a police report for thefts or damage that was not caused by a natural disaster.
